The specific use of the terms insurance , and security , are sometimes confused. In general, in jurisdictions where the two terms are used, insurance , refers to the coverage of an event that might happen (fire, theft, flood, etc.), while security , covers an event that is sure to happen. In the United States both forms of coverage, insurance , mainly due to many companies that both types of policies, rather than refer to themselves using both insurance and assurance titles , they instead using only one of them.
